Blue Tail This is one in a series of five silk fusion pieces made from photographs I took while on vacation. The images are printed onto 2 sheets of printable silk organza, cut and layered, then machine stitched with metallic thread and beaded. I have cut 2 sheets of silk fusion and then woven them together before layering on the organza and then stitching.   This piece measures 15 by 17 1/2 and has been mounted onto a canvas covered with a sheer fabric. Not shown mounted. Under the Sea This is made the same way as the one above. I printed the photograph onto 2 sheets of printable silk organza.  They pieces were cut and layer to give a feeling of depth. It was then machine stitched and then heavily beaded. It measures about 16 by 16.  Has since been mounted to a canvas covered with sheer fabric Double Trouble Two sheets of silk fusion were cut and woven together. It was also done in the same manner as the first using a photograph printed onto 2 layers of silk organza and then machine stitched and heavily beaded. This piece measures 14 3/4w by 14h. Flowers of the Ocean  The sheets of silk fusion are cut and then woven together. This is also made by printing onto 2 sheets of silk organza and the cutting and layering. The piece was then machine stitched and then heavily beaded. I added some curled wire to this piece. This piece measures 20 by 20 mounted to a fabric covered canvas. Visions of a Mythical Sea ( left)   Silk Fusion, woven and beaded, embellished with ribbon and  icons and mounted onto a painted canvas.Size framed is 18 by 22. Size 18 by 22. NFS  Cosmic Map  Silk Fusion is embedded with silk ribbon then finished with beading and embroidery. Mounted to a pre-stretched canvas. Size unframed as seen 11 by 14. In black shadow frame 12 1/2 by 15 1/2. . Bird in a Tree    Silk Fusion is embedded with feathers to create a bird. Tree branches are embroidered with silk thread, embroidered flowers are accented with tiny burgandy seed beads. SOLD $175 My Flower Garden  In this piece I used my photographs of flowers from my garden.  I have layered 2 different flower photographs which gives them a foggy appearance. This was the first piece of silk fusion that I used strips of silk fusion and wove them back together creatubg a new sheet of silk fusion. NFS. It measures 15w by 18h.
